Anyone who has driven through LaFollette lately, has noticed some construction on the sidewalks.

Mayor Mike Stanfield said the work is being done to make the city ADA(Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant. To date, 12-15 sidewalks have been made handicap accessible. Approximately 30 sidewalks remain in the project, which should be completed in the next 30 days.

A few finishing touches are to follow on this side of Central Avenue.

Stanfield said within the next two years, a sidewalk will be done from Martin-Wilson Funeral Home down to Charley’s Pizza. Stanfield said he hopes the sidewalks help to revitalize the city.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/06/2018-6AM)
