“It was just a plain ole accident,” said Jacksboro Police Sergeant Pam Wright. The veteran sergeant tells WLAF that Saturday night, a little after 10pm, she was called to an auto accident involving a JPD officer and cruiser.  Though the Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the accident, Wright explains that JPD Officer Zack Wright was traveling up Main Street heading east when he attempted to turn left onto Sharp and Perkins Road near the county health department.  The sergeant details that a car was heading south toward Main Street also attempting to turn left.  She says the driver of that car did not see Wright’s cruiser and pulled out hitting the police car in the driver’s side back door.

Officer Zack Wright was taken to the La Follette Medical Center and treated for a minor concussion.  He was released within a couple of hours.  No one else was injured.

Sergeant Wright adds that the cruiser took a hard lick and is out of service for the time being.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/09/2018-11AM)
