Kenneth Stewart Bartley appeared in Campbell County General Sessions Court on Monday following a Sunday night incident at the home of his father.

The report from Corporal Joe Hopson with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department details that he was dispatched to Kenny Bartley’s home on Imperial Heights in east La Follette around 9:30 pm Sunday night.  Bartley is the father of Kenneth S. Bartley who was involved in the 2005 shooting at Campbell County High School.

Hopson outlines that while on his way to the home, he saw Kenneth Bartley walking along Imperial Heights Drive just down from the Bartley home.  The corporal asked Bartley to accompany him back to the home which he did until the investigation was completed.

The victim, Kimberly Houston of Knoxville, told Hopson that Bartley showed up at his father’s home with other people wanting money.  In the report, Houston told Hopson that she told the 27-year old Bartley to leave several times.  Houston said Bartley told her, “Get out of my face, bitch.  I will kill you,” as he proceeded to pick up a rubber mallet.

Houston stated that she feared for her life due to previous encounters and threats made by Bartley to do harm to her and Kenny Bartley.  She explained that she retrieved a revolver, never pointing it at the younger Bartley, telling him to leave and then to get on the floor until police arrived.  That’s when Bartley left the home.

Bartley, who turned 27 earlier this month, has a bond set at $30,000.  His next court date is Tuesday, September 4.  Bartley is charged with aggravated assault.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/28/2018-6AM)
