“It’s an opportunity,” said Campbell Head Football Coach Justin Price as he and his team look to play the number one team in the state tonight in the Fulton Falcons.

The Cougars visit the Falcons in a 7:30 pm game Friday night on Bob Black Field.

Price explains that his team must execute at a high level and tackle in space to have a chance to be successful against the 6 & 1 Falcons.  Fulton’s lone loss was a 35 to 20 home game with Maryville.

Campbell, at 4 & 3, has had a great week of practice according to its head coach.  Both schools are on fall break this week which allowed Price to change up the practice schedule a little with regular afternoon time practices on Monday and Thursday and morning practices on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Price points out that Fulton’s speed is tough, and “we must make sure we bottle them up with leverage being the key on defense.  If you’re playing your technique, you can stop speed.”

The passing game has been Price’s bread and butter since arriving on The Hill in 2011.  However, the Cougars are coming off a record setting rushing game from Drew Jordan in last week’s 43-21 home win over Karns .  The 8th year head coach notes that, as always, his offense will take what Fulton is willing to give it, but that maybe last week’s success on the ground gave the Falcons a little bit to think about..

Weather will be cool and dry this evening as the Region 3 teams play on an artificial surface.   The game time temperature will be at 59-degrees with a reading of 55 by the fourth quarter.

And a footnote:  On today’s Pat Pebley Sports on WLAF, Pat is predicting an upset special for tonight on North Broadway.  Pebley is calling for tonight’s game to go the way of the Cougars.
