John Troutman, a native of La Follette and son of residents Dr. Gerald  and Mrs. Joanne Troutman, has recently earned the Doctor of Business
Administration (D.B.A.) degree, the equivalent to a Ph.D. in business.     Troutman, a CCHS and a UT journalism graduate with a master’s from the University of Florida, is a resident of Atlanta-suburb, Roswell, GA.

In November, he joined the faculty at Western Governors University (WGU) as a Marketing Professor. WGU includes WGU Tennessee, the state-endorsed university that’s a part of Gov. Bill Haslam’s “Drive to 55” initiative. A competency-based university, WGU provides accredited affordable online higher education to students in all 50 states.

Troutman’s corporate marketing and sales background includes experience with Siemens industrial technology, UPS logistics, Comverge digital
thermostats, and Elsevier engineering eLearning. He’s also served as a part-time professor for several universities, teaching MBA and undergrad
courses in marketing management, sales, and business communication.

Troutman completed his D.B.A. degree in Management, focusing on leadership for sales and marketing alignment, from Argosy University-Atlanta in Sept. 2018, and participated in commencement in Oct. 2018.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/12/2018-6AM)
