Last month, WLAF, in conjunction with Sheriff Robbie K. Goins and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, began a new feature entitled Crime Stoppers.

Individuals featured on Crime Stoppers are individuals with active, outstanding warrants that police are after. Through Crime Stoppers, the community has been able to help capture two men police were looking for.  Two of the four individuals already posted on Crime Stoppers have been captured.   Jody William Lane was apprehended in less than 24-hours of being announced on WLAF while Craig Orick was captured in less than two hours.

“The public has been very helpful is helping us locate these criminals,” Goins said. “I and my deputies are grateful for the information provided by the public and appreciative of the help they provided in capturing these people.”

When Crime Stoppers airs people can call the CCSO at 423-562-7446 if they see the person.

“Please do not approach anyone you see on Crime Stoppers,” said Goins. “Call the sheriff’s department and report where they are. We don’t want anyone to try to apprehend these people, just tell us where they are if you see them.”

Crime Stoppers airs each Thursday morning on WLAF AM 1450, FM 100.9, WLAF-TV 12 and 1450wlaf.com.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/14/2018-6AM)
