The Lady Cougars jumped out to an early 19 to 5 lead en route to a 75 to 53 win.  After a slow-start first quarter, the Cougars played toe-to-toe with Powell, but the 12-3 start was all the Panthers needed to win 60 to 44.  Take away the first quarter, and it’s a seven-point game with the Panthers holding on for the win.

Lady Cougar Coach Brad Honeycutt was happy with his team’s overall energy.  He said, “Our transition game was going really well.”

“We’re that close,” said Cougar Coach Darrell Cox.  He adds, “Powell’s pressure kept us out of our offense, but that’s an intensity thing on us for not fighting to get open on offense.  We’ll work on that tomorrow (Wednesday) in practice.  That’s fixable.”
