The Lady Cougars came from behind and shook off the Lady Trailblazers of Boone High on Friday afternoon at Greeneville.  Campbell fell behind Boone early, fought back and dominated down the stretch.  After back-to-back threes by Blair Medley, the Lady Cougars built a 23-point lead, their largest,  at 69-46 and then held on for the 75 to 58  win.

CCHS Coach Brad Honeycutt said after the game, “We made shots, because we took good shots off good looks.  And the 22 assists, versus nine turnovers, this afternoon are by far the most assists we’ve had in a game since I’ve been here.”  Coach ‘Cutt mentioned a defensive move helped thanks to Assistant Coach Ryan Browning’s idea to switch to a triangle and two that slowed down Boone early.

Emily Ellison led the charge on Friday with 22 points followed by 16 from Skylar Boshears, 14 from Haley Comer and Blair Medley’s 12.  Madison Brady added nine as Lexy Richardson chipped in two.

Campbell improves to 16 & 2 while Boone, who lost on a last-second shot to Oak Ridge on Wednesday, falls to 8 & 6.  With the victory, the Lady Cougars move on to the last day of the Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies Classic at Greeneville.

CCHS faces 10 & 3 Franklin County (Kentucky) Saturday morning at 11:30 am for 7th place in the tourney.  Josh Parker, Voice of the Lady Cougars, sends you live radio only coverage of the Lady Cougars and Lady Flyers here over WLAF and the B & M Tires Sports Network.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/28/2018-4 PM)
