The Campbell County Lady Cougars have eight days off after Friday night’s last game of the regular season win over Morristown West.  CLICK HERE to see the tourney bracket.  The Lady Cougars are the Number 1 Seed while the Cougars are the 7th Seed.  All games will be played at Karns High School.   Campbell kept West at bay to win it 42 to 33 on Brown Court and finish the regular season with 26 wins against three losses.  The Lady Cougars take the season series with two out of three wins over West after forcing 18 Lady Trojan turnovers.

Senior Skylar Boshears led the game with 20 points followed by seven from Madison Brady who took a hard shot to the nose late in the game.  Emily Ellison, still recovering from injury, tallied six while Lexy Richardson added four as Haley Comer and Macy Monday chipped in two each.  Blair Medley scored one point.

Next for Campbell is a semi-final game in the district tourney on Saturday, February 16, 7:30 pm, at Karns High School.  The Lady Cougars will find out who they will face early next week.

Head Coach Brad Honeycutt says the down side to the eight-day wait is rust and the team CCHS will be playing will have played on Thursday.  The 5th year coach adds, “We have a lot to work on and have the time to get locked in and focused mentally next week.  Our intensity level needs to come up, and we’ve got to get our sense of urgency back by next week.”
