This big rock (above) is going to be removed this morning from the bank above Highway 25W north of La Follette.  The boulder is on the Jellico side of Tussey Cut Road.

At 4:11 am Wednesday morning is when the call came in to E-911 that trees were blocking Jellico Highway.  The road remained closed until just after 7:30 am delaying school buses and others trying to get to Jellico or La Follette.

Trees and debris moved to the side of the road.

Officials with TDOT, the Tennessee Department of Transportation, tell WLAF that some trees fell down the slope, and they have been removed.  That exposed a large rock (photo above)  that is not in the roadway.  US 25W is open to traffic.   However, the size of the rock will require a larger piece of equipment for removal, and it is being deployed at this time.
