The Campbell County Lady Cougars have the opportunity to keep their great basketball season going.  However, they must win tonight at home versus Farragut to do so.

After a two-hour late afternoon practice on Thursday, CCHS Head Coach Brad Honeycutt said, “We had a great practice today. Our players were locked in and were very loose.”

The week of December 17, the Lady Cougars played four games in five days.  After Monday and Tuesday games, both wins, CCHS played the Lady Admirals at Farragut on Thursday.  It was the perfect storm, the Lady Cougars had just played a tough game at Morristown against West on Tuesday and Farragut came out clicking on all cylinders.  The Lady Admirals won 67 to 48, and the game was not as close as the score looks.

Honeycutt adds, “Regardless of what happened in the first game with Farragut, these players will be confident in the second meeting. We have a group that believes in themselves and knows they have a lot of basketball left in them.”

Farragut is 25 & 7 while Campbell is 27 & 4.  The Lady Admirals represent District 4 while CCHS is from District 3.  The winner of tonight’s game advances to play the winner of Oak Ridge and William Blount next week.  Tip off time for tonight’s Region 2 first round game is 7 pm, and the game will be played on Brown Court.

Josh Parker has the call of Campbell and Farragut beginning at 6:50 pm over the WLAF – B & M Tires Sports Network.  That’s live radio over AM 1450 and FM 100.9 plus the live telecast over 1450wlaf.com.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/22/2019-6AM)
