Roger Lee Blankenship, age 69 of LaFollette passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019.  He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.  He enjoyed going to Katie’s Restaurant and playing music.  He also enjoyed going to flea markets and trading.  Roger was once the voice of the “Swap Shop” and a member of L.A. Cruizer’s.  He was in the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War.

He is preceded in death by parents Dow and Marie (Luttrell) Blankenship, sister Nancy Kay Reynolds.

Roger is survived by son Roger Lee Blankenship Jr., sisters Barbara Zillich and Darlene Blankenship, nieces Kimberly Michel and Tammy Jones.  Nephews Jeff Reynolds, Jerry Reynolds & wife Carol.  Special-special friend Darlene Sharp, special friend Ronnie “Pinky” Lee, his dog, Sadie.  A host of other friends, relatives, and musical friends at Katie’s.

Visitation will be 11 AM – 1 PM Monday, April 15, 2019 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home followed by funeral service at 1 PM with Rev. Tim Russell and David Hicks officiating.  Following funeral service friends and family will go in procession to Glade Springs Cemetery for interment.
