Jack Reynolds, with Peoples Bank of the South,  was a 4th grader when West La Follette School opened in 1939.   Reynolds, who calls himself a ’29 model, turns 90 in November. He recently shared details of the new and old school in now the 80th year of the “new” school on West Beech Street.  Before this building was built, the school was on the corner at Beech and 9th street about where Dr. Frank Shaw’s office was.  WLAF’s Charlie Hutson shares this photo with us that he guesstimates was snapped in the late 1950s or early 1960s.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/17/2019-6AM)
