LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Allegations of someone kicking-in doors, ended in a trip to jail.

On Sunday, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Tosha Tackett went to a home on Sandy Hill Road where it was alleged that Cory William Taylor was attempting to kick doors in at the home. When Tackett arrived, she saw Taylor attempting to shove his mother down the stairs of the porch, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Department. Tackett exited her vehicle and commanded Taylor to put his hands behind his back, but he refused to do so. Tackett was able to get one cuff on his left wrist before he jerked away from her. While Tackett was struggling with Taylor to put the other cuff on his right wrist, Sgt. Mike Owens arrived, and Taylor was placed on the ground, but continued fighting, refusing to give officers his right wrist. After a brief struggle, Owens and Tackett were able to place both cuffs on the suspect.

When Tackett spoke with the victim, she allegedly said Taylor had left the residence earlier with another male in a black truck and when he returned home he appeared to be intoxicated. She continued that she and Taylor had gotten into a verbal altercation due to the fact he was “high”. He then allegedly started cursing, yelling and breaking items in the home. When he finally went outside, she locked the doors to keep him out, attempting to avoid a fight. Taylor then began yelling and screaming outside the home prompting the victim to call police as she began gathering his items from the home. During this time, he went to the backdoor of the home and kicked the door in.  He then went to the front of the home and began kicking the screen door, ripping the screen. After ripping the screen, Taylor began throwing the victims flowers and trashing the porch until the police arrived.

Taylor, 26, 149 Sandy Hill Road, LaFollette is charged with domestic violence by assault and resist stop frisk halt search and remains housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning awaiting a July 2 court appearance.  This was Taylor’s 11th arrest, based on jail records.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/27/2019-6AM)
