LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The New Harvest singing group’s benefit on Saturday evening at Katie’s Restaurant saw lots of people come out to show their support including several musicians and singers.

New River Rising, the Roberts Sisters, Joseph Hensley and more provided music for the event.  See more Charlie Hutson photos HERE.

The group, New Harvest, generally takes all its equipment to virtually every performance.  However, on its gig for Friday, June 7, it did not need to take along all of its equipment.  Greg Marlow of New Harvest said, “It was kind of nice to not have to take everything along that night; no extra set up or loading and unloading.”  However, all that equipment that did not make the trip that devastating night was stored at the Faithway Assembly of God, perhaps the hardest hit entity by the catastrophic flood.

The benefit evening included an auction with a table full of items donated by local businesses and friends.  Travis Wright with New River Rising, was the auctioneer with help from Joseph Hensley.  Proceeds from the benefit will help replace the equipment lost during the flood.  T

New Harvest, comprised of Greg Marlow, Warren Marlowe, Steve Bruce and Robert Powell, has been performing for more than 30-years.  On one of its CDs sleeves it reads “Most of the time in the music business, success is measured by the number of albums you sell and the larger venues you play.  After years of playing small churches and festivals, we have a different view.  We (New Harvest) measure our success by the lives our music has touched.”
