LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The City of La Follette welcomed a new piece of equipment to town on Friday afternoon.  A model year 2000s Gradall was added to the street department’s equipment pool.   “The unit has no hours and miles on it and only cost us $2,600, the freight fee.  But it’s worth a million dollars to the city when if comes to cleaning out ditches,” Mayor Mike Stanfield said.

The big rig left Jacksonville, North Carolina, Thursday morning bound for La Follette some 680 miles away.

The Gradall XL 4100 comes to the city from Camp Lejeune at Jacksonville, North Carolina.  Stanfield estimated the Gradall originally cost in the six-figure range when new.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/26/2019-6AM)
