Witnesses say this truck was headed west and ended up getting spun around and facing north across West Central Avenue.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – One person was flown out this morning to a Knoxville hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a head on collision in La Follette.

Around 8:30 am Wednesday morning, witnesses say a Toyota Tacoma was heading toward Jacksboro on West Central Avenue when it veered into oncoming traffic colliding with a large dump truck.  The accident happened between the Corner Market and the Sonic on Central.

This is the bigger truck that was involved in the grinding wreck.  Diesel fuel gushed out of the truck onto the street.

The east bound side of West Central Avenue was closed for several hours due to the fuel spill.  One lane was reopened around 11:30 am.

Rotor wash from the helicopter blew all the dust off the old Lyons parking lot when it landed.

The med chopper landed on the parking lot of the former Lyons Trading Center.  The patient was flown out soon after 9 am. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 10/02/2019-9:15AM)
