Donald “Don” Pierce, age 74, of Speedwell received his healing on the afternoon of January 27, 2020, with his loving wife, Patsy Pierce and daughter Cindy Morris by his side.

Don was a long-time member of Braden’s Chapel Church. He owned D & P Grocery that he purchased with his wife in 1971. It, along with the generosity of he and his wife, was a staple in the Speedwell community. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. However, his family was his true pride and joy.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Sherman and Genese Pierce, brother James “Hoss” Pierce and wife Sue, and sister Mildred Pierce.

Don is survived by his faithful wife Patsy Pierce, daughter Cindy Morris and husband Nelson, grandchildren Ashley Claiborne and husband Mark and Amber Morris, sister Reba Crowe, sister and brothers-in-law Ernie and Mickey Clawson, Janice and Marvin Bean, Matthew “Mack” and Linda Clawson, and Pam and Ken Goins, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at 5 PM to 7 PM Wednesday at Cross-Smith Funeral Home.

Services 11 AM Thursday at Braden’s Chapel Church with Rev. Nick Goins, Rev. Trevor Bean and Rev. Jeremiah Bean officiating with interment to follow at Braden’s Cemetery with Military Honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

Pallbearers are Dexter Bean, Mark Claiborne, Brandon Clawson, Ernie Mac Clawson, Nelson Morris, David Pierce and Mike Crowe.

Don’s family rejoices in knowing that he has victory in Jesus and will cherish his memory. They want to thank Dr. Narula for the care he showed to his long-time patient, Tennova Nursing Home, and Cross-Smith Funeral Home.
