John Marshall Phillips, age 87, of Caryville (Vasper Community) passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020. He was a member of Shultz Hollow Baptist Church. He was retired from State of TN Highway Dept. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He loved going to flea markets and meeting new people. He never met a stranger. Dad was always there for family and friends, during good and bad times. He will be missed by many. His first love was God and he enjoyed worshipping Him every day of his life. We are so blessed that he taught us about God’s love and we know we will see him again in Heaven. Preceded in death by wife and mother of his children: Eva Daugherty Phillips, wife: Hazel Phillips, granddaughter: Tiffany Boles, son-in-law: Ed Boles, parents: Frank and Maggie Daugherty Phillips
