LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A call of an unresponsive man on March 18 ended with a trip to jail. Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy John Minor received a call of an unresponsive man near Waterfront Trail close to Norris Lake. When Minor arrived, he found Harley Edward Miller awake and on his feet.

Miller alleged that he lived nearby and didn’t know he was trespassing in a gated community. When asked if he had taken any narcotics or prescription medication, Miller replied he had not. He was then asked if he had any narcotics or prescription medication, again Miller replied no. Miller allegedly told Minor he could search him if he wanted and emptied his pockets onto the patrol car. Attached to Miller’s keys was a black container commonly used to hold illegal substances, according to a report from the sheriff’s department. When ask about the container, Miller allegedly said it had Suboxone in it. Minor checked the container and found seven pink round pills believed to be Oxycodone inside it. When Miller was asked about the pills, he allegedly said they were 10 mg Oxycodone.

Miller, 47, 241 Goins Lake Lane, LaFollette is charged with possession of schedule II-controlled substance.
