NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) – This afternoon, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee issued a statewide “Safer at Home” executive order, urging people to stay home and stay apart, as well as, ordering the closure of businesses that cannot safely operate.“This is not a mandated shelter-in-place, but rather a strong urging for residents in non-essential roles to stay at home,” said Lee.

That means all non-essential businesses will need to close and everyone is encouraged to stay at home whenever possible.

It includes closing businesses that cannot operate safely during this time, including salons and barbershops, concert venues and indoor recreation facilities.
The governor’s order goes into effect at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday and lasts through April 14.
