Yager hosts COVID-19 info tele-town hall meeting today at 5:30 pm

State Senator Ken Yager, a frequent visitor to Campbell County, hosts a COVID-19 info telephone town hall meeting on Monday.

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) – State Senator Ken Yager (R-Kingston) will hold a telephone town hall on Monday, April 6^th to provide an update and answer questions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.  Yager will have Laura Conner, Director of the Roane and Morgan County Health Departments, on the line to answer caller questions about what can be done to stay safe during the pandemic. Yager will also provide information on how to access state-related assistance that is available for employees and business owners affected by the virus.

“Along with our heroic health care providers, our federal, state and local officials are working tirelessly to cobat this pandemic,” said Senator Yager.  “I know there are a lot of questions among the public regarding the virus, especially with new information coming out every day from all three levels of government.  This makes it very difficult to keep up with the latest developments. I want to make sure everyone has the information they need to stay safe, as well understands what state resources are available for those who are suffering from its economic impact.”

Before adjourning, the Tennessee General Assembly passed a budget which provides $150 million to establish a new fund to cover public health and safety issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the budget strengthens the state’s safety net for health and mental health programs for uninsured Tennesseans.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/06/2020-11:45AM)
