Frank and Yvonne Shaw were high school sweethearts back in the day at Williamsburg High.  Their love story took a sad turn when Yvonne passed away over the weekend.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – “She was the second and last girl I ever dated,” said a broken hearted Frank Shaw.  This past weekend he lost Yvonne, his sweetheart and wife of 51 years.  WATCH Yvonne’s ceremony HERE.

The couple grew up in Williamsburg but spent the balance of their lives in La Follette raising their kids, practicing dentistry and teaching school.

Beloved elementary school teacher Yvonne Shaw to be laid to rest this afternoon.

After high school, Frank went off to the University of Kentucky and Yvonne to Eastern Kentucky University and married following Frank’s graduation from UK.  Then it was off to the University of Louisville School of Dentistry for Frank.  Upon graduation, the couple settled in La Follette and has been here ever since; Frank seeing patients and Yvonne teaching children.

Their lifelong journey takes another turn today when Yvonne is taken back to her native Williamsburg.  There, she’ll be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery overlooking the Cumberland River.

Since only a handful of people will be able to attend Yvonne’s funeral this morning, the family is filming her service, and it will be available for viewing next week over WLAF.

A remembrance of life will take place later this year.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/02/2020-6AM)
