LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – On Monday, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Douglas was dispatched to Brooke Place Lane where there was an alleged disturbance. When Douglas arrived, he spoke with the victim who alleged  she and Derrick Tyler Stanifer had been arguing.  She continued Stanifer had left earlier in the day and came back smelling like alcohol, according to the report. The victim stated she got into a verbal altercation with him and tore down his Nirvana poster off the wall, telling him to leave.  At this point, Stanifer allegedly punched her in the chest area then they both proceeded to go into the living room where he went to grab a child’s car seat and told her he was taking the child.  She allegedly told him he was not taking the child, and she was calling police.  In the report, Douglas wrote Stanifer then grabbed her with one hand by the throat, choked her and shoved her into the living room.
