George Arnold Myers, age 94 of Speedwell, TN passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, April 25, 2020. He was born July 29, 1925 and lived his entire life in Speedwell. George was a deacon and member of New Salem Baptist Church of Speedwell and a 70-year member of Valley Star Masonic Lodge #577. His passion for the cattle business allowed him to be a lifetime farmer, livestock dealer, and proud owner of Ewing Livestock in Ewing, VA and Union Livestock in Knoxville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Lenis Henry “L.H.” and Lottie (Bean) Myers, wife; Ruby Jean (Leach) Myers, brothers; James Fred Myers, William Frank “Mike” Myers and infant Dan Myers , sisters; Florence (Jim) Johnson, Joyce Ann (Robert) Macke, and infant Sarah Myers, father-in-law and mother-in-law; Horace and Carrie Bullard Leach, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Lloyd and Bobbie Russell, Horace Lee and Betty Leach, Carl Claiborne, RC Smith, Dale Lynch and Mel York .

He leaves behind his precious family members, son; Ronald Steve Myers, daughters; Elizabeth Anne Myers Mathews and Linda Faye (David) Mundy all of Speedwell, TN, grandchildren; Suzannah Mathews and fiancée Brandon Jones of Jonesville, VA, Travis (Sammie) Mundy of Jacksboro, TN, Jamie (Billy) Ball of LaFollette, TN, great grandchildren; Madison “Maddie”  and Eli Mundy of New Tazewell, TN, Bailey and Brody Ball of LaFollette, TN, brother; Sam (Louise) Myers, sisters; Mildred (Eddie) Mitchell, Lena York, Polly Lynch, Opal Smith, Louise Claiborne, special cousins; Ava June Lay, Glen and Phyllis Wilson, special friends; the employees of Ewing Livestock and the Rocky Top Branch of Suntrust Bank, Dr. Brent and Jack Neal, Jack Dykes, special caretaker; Carol Ann Wade. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

The body will lie in state between the hours of 1:00PM until 9:00PM Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel, following the COVID-19 guidelines.  Masonic Services and Graveside Services will be conducted 2PM Friday, May 1, 2020 in the Leach Cemetery, Speedwell, TN with the Rev. George Cole officiating. Music will be provided by The Glory Road Boys. Masocinc services will be conducted by Valley Star Lodge #577.
