JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The CSX railroad cross tie replacement project continues here in South Campbell County.  The crossing at Stone Mill Road is back open.  Work at Island Ford Road in Jacksboro is expected to finish up at that crossing before lunch time on Wednesday.  The Brantley Lane crossing remains closed on Wednesday for repairs and is expected to reopen sometime on Thursday.  Proper detours are up at each location.

The following crossings will be impacted this week of May 11:

Towe String Road

Brantley Lane

Old Jacksboro Pike at the underpass

Gibson Lane

South Avenue

West Central Avenue

Later in May, crews will be working on the north side of Campbell County.  A 10 mile section of tracks is where the working will take place with work also being conducted at the Highcliff Road and Travillion Lane crossings.

Three production teams will work their way along the rail repaving each crossing as they go, which can take between two to five days to complete.  The work schedule is tentative and is subject to change due to many variables that can occur with these types of infrastructure projects.

Travelers are encouraged to follow any posted detours or seek alternate routes and to add additional time for their commute.

Maintenance like this is critical to the safety of both train operations and roadway traffic, and CSX appreciates the patience of the community while they complete this important work.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/13/2020-9AM)
