CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Elisha Ann Kennedy was arrested on May 30 after a vehicle hit and run accident.

Caryville Officer Tony Mahar was dispatched to Stone Mill Road on the report of the hit and run. The victim, while on the phone with dispatch, was able to follow Kennedy in her vehicle after the accident occurred.
Sgt. Travis Bostic with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department made the traffic stop on Vanover Road. Officer Mahar arrived and according to the report, he noticed that “every time Elisha talked about where she was going and where she came from, it changed several times.”
Kennedy failed the standardize field sobriety test. When asked by officer Mahar, Kennedy said she had been drinking. She was transported to jail and charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, implied consent and violation of due care.
 Caryville Police arrested a LaFollette man on drug charges at a gas station in Caryville May 31.
 According to the arrest report, Caryville Police made contact with Frankie Godsey, 60, at the Exxon gas station around 6 p.m. Sunday evening. Officers observed Godsey was “parked in the middle of two parking spots” and he appeared nervous when officers spoke to him.  At this point, officers asked him to exit his vehicle and a K-9 officer was called to be “deployed” on the vehicle. The canine alerted on the driver’s side door of the vehicle.  Upon searching the vehicle, officers found a small bag containing a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine in the driver’s door. Officers also found a glass pipe and a small bag of marijuana.
Godsey was arrested and transported to jail. He was charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/01/2020-1PM)
