LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A young La Follette boy is recovering this morning in the hospital from serious injuries sustained in a Friday evening bicycle accident.
La Follette Mayor Mike Stanfield was on the scene of the wreck and noted that the boy, around 12-years-old, came off the North Massachusetts Avenue Hill in Slab Town and collided with a pick up truck that was traveling along Back Valley Road which intersects with the avenue. The young man was flown by a medical helicopter to a Knoxville hospital.
The young man’s mother contacted WLAF on Sunday saying, “We are home after surgeries, and he’s on a walker and using a wheel chair and many doctor visits are ahead. Thanks for all the prayers. God is good.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/13/2020-9AM-06/15/2020-6AM))
