LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Yesterday, the City of La Follette met in an adjourned session with a small agenda.

First on the agenda was Resolution 2020-09 amending the 2019-20 budget. The resolution covered changes to the general fund in the amount of $97,946 for budget overages.

Next was Resolution 2020-10 for the purchase of a rescue truck for the fire department at a price of $125,300 and paving projects costing $53,375. The money to fund the purchases will come from the Governor’s Local Government Support Grant that provides funding for local governments upon application.

Resolution 2020-02, approving the 2020-21 budget, was passed. The only items from the wish list funded in the budget were four patrol cars for the police department and windows for the West End Recreation Center.

In the final business of the night, council agreed to extend the hospital lease with Tennova La Follette Medical Center for four months through October, 2020. The lease was set to expire on July 1, 2020.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/26/2020-6AM)
