The LUB power outage map shows more than 400 customers still without power on Saturday night.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – From 3,700+ customers without power to just under 500 still out of electricity is how far crews with the La Follette Utility Board have come in 24-hours.  “Most of those in that group of 484 probably won’t have power until tomorrow,” said LUB General Manager Kenny Baird as darkness settled-in on Saturday night.

A severe thunderstorm with winds verified by the National Weather Service as high as 70 miles per hour swept through Campbell County in the 5 pm hour on Friday afternoon felling well more than 100 trees from Caryville to Speedwell.

Baird said, “It’s been a while since we’ve had one like this.”  Six related stories and photos are further down this page.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/01/2020-9PM)
