LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A suspicious person call led to an arrest for 55-year- old Jerry Bailey.  “He was trying to light a fire in a fire pit on a stranger’s porch on East Chestnut Street,” said La Follette Police Officer Timothy Collingsworth. The officer said when he first saw Bailey, Bailey appeared confused, disoriented, had pinpoint pupils and could not tell Collingsworth where his home was.  “Bailey was wearing socks and no shoes,” according Collingsworth.  Based on the report, when Bailey was asked if he had any drugs on him, he said he may have pills in his sock.   Collingsworth verified that Bailey did not have any pills in his sock.

The officer determined that Bailey was a danger to himself and others and placed him under arrest.  Bailey was transported to the Campbell County Jail where he was charged with public intoxication and later released on a $500 bond.  He’s due in court on August 27.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/04/2020-6AM)
