LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Four deputies recently responded to Easter Lane, just off Sugar Hollow Road on Aug. 4 about a fight.   When deputies arrived, they spoke with several people inside the residence.  Campbell County Deputy James McCall checked for local warrants on the individuals and found that Gregory Scott Murray had an active violation of probation warrant from Anderson County.  Before Murray was arrested, McCall noticed a large white lock box at his feet with a clear baggie partially sticking out of it.  Murray was asked if the box was his and  allegedly replied no while the other individuals in the home did not claim the box either, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Inside the box McCall allegedly  found digital scales, six sandwich bags, two small red baggies, several needles and two individually wrapped baggies that contained a white powdery substance and one small red baggie that also contained a white powdery substance that is believed to be schedule II methamphetamine.

Inside Murray’s front pants pocket was $1,929 believed to be the proceeds from the sale and delivery of illegal drugs.

Murray, 43, 122 Alexander Circle, LaFollette is charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule II-controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/13/2020-6AM)
