LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – While Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Branam was recently patrolling on Demory Road,  a red Mustang caught his eye.   Branam was traveling north, when he met the Mustang traveling south at a high rate of speed in the wrong lane, according to the report.  Branam turned around to catch up with the car but was not able to do so.

At this point, he issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for the vehicle.  Shortly afterward, Officer Steven Carroll with the LaFollette Police Department stopped a red Mustang that had come from Demory Road.  Carroll found a bag of marijuana in the car’s cup holder.

The driver of the Mustang, identified as Caleb Keaton Johnson, agreed to talk with Branam, based on the report from the sheriff’s department.  Allegedly, Johnson said he fled, because he had some marijuana in the car.

Johnson, 23, 114 Choctaw Lane, Jacksboro is charged with reckless driving and possession of schedule VI-controlled substance.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/14/2020-6AM)
