LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The names and faces have changed.  However, the La Follette Police Department’s Drug Unit and Special Response Team along with investigators from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and the Eighth Judicial District Drug Task Force mission remains the same as they returned Friday morning to the same Cumberland Avenue home they visited last September.

On September 19, 2019, at 318 North Cumberland Ave. arrests were made and individuals were convicted, according to LPD Narcotics Agent Matt Forsyth.

For the second time Friday morning, the LPD Drug Unit and Special Response Team was executing a narcotics search warrant.  The team hit a West Chestnut Street apartment just before sun up.  The Cumberland Avenue raid hit at 9:45 am.

“After last year’s arrests, we’ve continually watched this home, and we’re back again with a whole different group of people living here, except for the man who rents the home, Christopher Hatmaker.  There are five people in this home,” said Forsyth.

Forsyth said heroin  was purchased by undercover investigators during the course of the investigation.  Arrests are pending in this case.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/04/2020-11:15AM)
