LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Pine Mountain Longbeards chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation donated $3,500 to the Campbell County Children’s Center on Monday afternoon.
Due to the pandemic, there has not been a Jake’s Day and other events for youngsters, so the NWTF pooled some money to do something for the children, and the donation is the result.
At 5 pm, Monday, the Pine Mountain Longbeards presented the Children’s Center with the donation check at the Ball Farm Event Center.
“We wanted to do something for the kids, and we had some money set aside for Jake’s Day, but since we have not been able to do those fundraisers, we thought we would give some money to the Children’s Center,” said Pine Mountain Longbeards chapter president Billy Ball.
Ball said he and other chapter members felt it was the most “worthy” organization they  could donate to in order to help the children of Campbell County.
Children’s Center Executive Director Tracie Davis was on hand to receive the check.  “We are so very appreciative; as a result of COVID, we have not able to do fundraisers and this will go a long way to keep us going right now,” Davis said.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/22/2020-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLOTTE UNDERWOOD)
