LENOIR CITY, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County will be represented at next week’s state golf tournament at Manchester.

David Bates is going to the state tournament as Campbell County High School’s individual qualifier.

Campbell Coach Michael Cain said, “The Cougars finished second to Farragut in the region while the Lady Cougars were fourth.”  Only the winner of the region as a team goes on to the state tournament.  David, a junior, made back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18 to qualify for state according to Coach Cain.
Cain adds, “The top three individuals who are not a member of the region’s first place team  continue their seasons at the state tournament.”  Bates tied for third overall at Monday’s region.
Bates will compete at WillowBrook Golf Club on Oct. 6-7.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/29/2020-6AM-UPDATED 11AM-PHOTO COURTESY OF WLAF’S PAT PEBLEY)
