LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – WLAF’s Charlie Hutson takes us down memory lane on this Throwback Thrusday. C-Hut said La Follette Auto Sales was owned by Howard Claiborne in this 1957 photo. This is building is now part of Peoples Bank of the South’s parking lot in Downtown La Follette.
Peoples bought this to build the green brick bank in 1960 which was replaced by its current building in the early 2000s.
La Follette Auto Sales moved to the Hollingsworth building on Hwy 25W. Later it become Campbell County Auto Sales and then Lee Ford. The building is now the home of J.R.’s Tires. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/01/2020-6AM-PHOTO COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
