LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County Children’s Center is hosting it’s first No Show Black Tie Gala along with a live auction via WLAF on Tues., Oct. 6, from 6 pm – 8 pm.  The gala event will help benefit the Children’s Center and the children of Campbell County.  CLICK on the Lindsay’s Carpet and Paint Center video player to watch the auction and to place your bid by calling 423.562-4190 or 865.214-5027.  According to Children’s Center Executive Director Tracie Davis, the Children’s Center already had to cancel it’s first two fundraisers of the year due to the pandemic.  Because of this, the upcoming fundraiser is a “vital part of the organization.”  To sustain donations and keep serving the children of Campbell County, Davis said they had to get creative to come up with an idea to “gather the community together and continue getting the support we need to operate.”

The Children’s Center is asking for the “local supporters that have supported us in the past to be a sponsor once again,” Davis said.
Below are the top 11 items.  Bids will be taken on these items now through Oct. 5.  The highest bids on these items are where the bidding will begin on Tuesday  at 6 pm.  Connect HERE to bid.
In the past events, the Children’s Center has had Banner Level sponsorships which are a donation of $250 for a banner with the businesses name on it.  For the virtual event, the Banner Level sponsors will be featured on Social Media, have their names featured in the LaFollette Press and receive “multiple mentions” during the virtual auction over WLAF.  “We just want to recognize the businesses that have continually supported us,” Davis said.  Any level of donation is appreciated and welcome.
Now more than ever, the Children’s Center needs support, according to Davis, who said the organization has been extremely busy in all three counties.
“It’s a great way for the community to pull together and help the children of Campbell County in a time of uncertainty.  Our existence as an organization depends upon donations and grants,”  Davis said.
Everyone van enjoy the auction from the comfort of home.  No black tie actually required.  There will be countless “must-have” items, exciting experiences and gift cards to your favorite shops and restaurants.  The auction will be televised live over WLAF-TV 12, www.1450wlaf.com, Roku TV, Facebook, YouTube and Amazon Firestick.  It will also air over AM 1450 and FM 100.9, WLAF Radio.  Billy Ball is the auctioneer.
