STINKING CREEK, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County’s 5th District Commissioner Carl Douglas has died.

As well as serving his country, he loved serving his beloved county as the 5th District County Commissioner for Campbell County family members noted.

“My heart is saddened,” said fellow County Commissioner Rusty Orick.

“We lost a real Patriot with the passing of Carl Douglas.  One thing is for certain, his legacy of service lives on. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Douglas family,” said Campbell County Mayor E.L. Morton.

“It’s been a great pleasure to serve with Carl.  Carl brought a lot of experience to the commission, mostly quiet, but when he spoke, everyone listened,” added Orick.

Orick admired how Douglas was always ready to stand for his district and give his opinion.  “It’s been a blessing and privilege to serve with him, and my prayers go out to his family,” said Orick.

The commissioner was also a United States Army Veteran. Orick considered Douglas as a great friend as well as a fellow commissioner.

“He will be sorely missed,” the mayor pointed out.

Douglas’s family will have a graveside service on Tuesday at the Davis Cemetery in the Branam Community at 11:00 AM with Rev. Delmus Bruce officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
