CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Last night the Town of Caryville decided on how to proceed with Trunk or Treat for the town due to the current COVID crisis.  Watch the meeting HERE on demand.  The board decided the town’s Trunk or Treat will be a drive thru event on Sat., Oct. 31 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the ball field. Any organization or church that wants to participate needs to call the town at 423-562-9478. Children who live in close proximity to the ball field will be allowed to walk through, all others will drive thru.

Chris Oelgoetz with Community Development Partners, LLC was scheduled to be present to discuss the LPRF Grant, but was unable to attend.  He will attend next month.

Second reading of Ordinance No: 2020-03 amending the zoning map of the Town of Caryville, by rezoning parcels 120B A 063.00, 1090 A 051.00, 109K A 052.00, and 109J A 020.00 from R-1, low density residential, to MHPD, Mobile Home Park District was completed.

The board discussed the TN Cares Act local government program funds totaling $32,475. Funds can be used for anything COVID related. Paperwork has been submitted and the town should soon receive an answer.

The TDOT 2020 Signal Modernization Program was added to the agenda. The signal grant is coming around again.  The deadline is Dec. 2.  The red light and control box need to be replaced at Hwy 116 at the Waffle House, due to the age of the light.
