Eugene Oakes, age 77 of Jacksboro passed away on Wednesday October 14, 2020. He was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church. Eugene retired from Powell Clinch Utility District after working for 36 years as a meter reader, he was a US Army Veteran having received the Good Conduct Medal, Sharp Shooter Rifle M-14, 1 year Safe Driver Badge and the National Defense Service Medal.

Preceded in death by; parents, Jasper and Ruby Fields Oakes, sisters, Shelby Jean Perciful, Mary Lou Marlow, brothers, Tommy Oakes, Fred Oakes, Charles Oakes and Clifford Oakes.

Survived by wife of 50 Years Aimee Oakes of Jacksboro, son, Bryan Oakes and wife Stephanie of LaFollette,  brothers, David Oakes and Raymond Oakes, sister, Nadine Oakes, grandchildren, Tristan Oakes and Haven Oakes.

Due to Covid 19 pandemic no services are planned at this time and will be announced at a later date.

If anyone would like to drop by Mrs. Oakes home for a visit, they would be welcome.
