JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – WATCH the Cougars football game at Fulton right here on demand.  Two 3 and 4 football teams meet up tonight on Bob Black Field as Fulton hosts Campbell County in a Region 3 5-A match-up.  It comes on Fall break week for both programs as CCHS is coming off its bye week.  Kick-off is at 7:30 pm with live televised coverage right here over the WLAF – Doyle’s Tire Shop Sports Network.  Click on the Lindsay’s Carpet & Paint Center video player to watch.ABOUT THE BYE WEEK:

Campbell Head Coach Justin Price said, “Bye weeks are big for guys to rest up some things that they’re battling, and it also gives you time to focus on some fundamentals and just continue to get as many reps on as many things as you can.  But sometimes bye weeks come at a rough time, because we’ve lost two in a row and you want to get those losses over with and move on.  Our kids have handled the bye week well.  Playing a game over our Fall break sometimes it matches up with our bye week and sometimes it doesn’t.  That presents some challenges as well, and Fulton is on break this week, and we’re all challenged in different ways each week, but our kids have handled it, and I think we’re ready to go.”

FULTON’S DEFENSE:

“They’re defense is really good; especially up front.  This may be the best defensive line, as a group, that we’ll see all season.  A lot of those guys played last season as sophomores, and they’re explosive off the ball, and they are physical and very strong.  They’ve controlled the line of scrimmage in the games that we’ve seen.  We need to make sure that we play low upfront and keep our feet moving to open up holes for C.J. (Allen).  At the same time, we need to take advantage of some things in the throwing game.  I feel like Hunter (White) has improved as the season has gone along especially throwing it on time and throwing it quick.  Our young receivers are starting to get used to all of this and how it works.  So offensively,  the key for us is to avoid negative plays in particular on first downs and then take advantage of scoring opportunities when they come,” said Price.

HUNTER WHITE:

The 10th year head coach notes, “Hunter White (after being dinged up in the Powell game) is good to go tonight and has had a good couple of weeks of practice.  He’s worked hard.  Any time things don’t go our way, he’s the first one to figure out what happened, and figure out what he can do to help us win.  He’s watched a lot of film over the past couple of weeks to get prepared for Fulton.  So, we’re excited about what Hunter can do tonight.”

FULTON’S OFFENSE:

Coach Price said, “They have a senior quarterback this year who can throw the football and manages the offense very well.  Coach (Rob) Black puts them in some good situations.    They have two different running backs we’ve seen on film, but really they play three, and one of them is a power back and one of ’em kinda gets on the edge and makes people miss.  Obviously they have the deep threats out at receiver.  Coach Black and his staff do a very good job in the run game and the throw game.  They’re very balanced, and they have very good play action stuff.  They take shots that you have to defend, and they also will throw screens.  Their screen game is also very dangerous.  The good thing is we’ve had two weeks to look at that stuff, and I think we have a good plan.  We need to be where we’re supposed to be and be ready to tackle people, but at the same time, our focus this week is to make sure that we get all 11 hats to the football.  Because if the first guy misses and the second guy misses, then those third and fourth guys need to make sure they clean it up.  That’s what it’s going to take in these type of games.”
