LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A virtual job hiring event is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Organized by the Tennessee State Board of Regents, the event is aimed at high school seniors, community college and Tennessee Center for Applied Technology students to help them with job placement. Local companies and industries that are hiring are encouraged to register their information for the event.

According to Campbell County Roane State campus director Tracy Powers, the event is “vital” to help students with job placement right now. The virtual “Meet the Employer” event will give not only local companies, but industries across Tennessee a chance to advertise positions and job requirements for area students.
“We would normally be referring students to our placement office right now, but the pandemic changed that. This virtual idea is excellent and will give Campbell County students job information and opportunities across the whole state,” Powers said.
Members from the TN Department of Education, TN Pathways, American Job Centers of TN, and SkillsUSA TN Postsecondary teamed up to host the virtual meet the employer events to connect students, educators and industry partners.
