LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- Some Campbell Countians saw a little relief last week in term of groceries.

Thanks to the food ministry at the LaFollette Church of God, 1,248 boxes of food were distributed to needy families. Each box weighed roughly 30 pounds and contained dairy, fruits and vegetables.

“It was absolutely phenomenal,” said Pastor Michael Dent of the LaFollette Church of God.

When the truck door was rolled open, the back of the truck was filled with the food boxes, he said.

Cars came throughout the day on Wednesday picking up the boxes.

Boxes of food were given to area families last week thanks to LaFollette Church of God. Pastor Michael Dent (left) was happy to see the truck driver deliver the food.

“The majority of people were just down on their luck,” Dent said. Many had lost their jobs due to COVID-19, he said.

By 2:30 pm, the 37,000 pounds of food had been distributed.

Being able to share the food and pray with people was a blessing, according to Dent. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/26/2020- 6AM)
