JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The courthouse and its associated offices are closed this week for cleaning due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases here in Campbell County.  That said, the closure has prompted changes for the way and timing Trustee Monty Bullock and his staff are conducting property tax collections.

On Monday, Bullock announced a change in the two percent discount date for those wishing to take advantage of the early payment savings.  “We’ve extended the two percent deadline through Friday, Nov. 6,” said Bullock.  The courthouse will be closed on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.

There are three ways to make your payment; by US Mail, through one of the two drop boxes located at the courthouse at Jacksboro and online.  Bullock notes that anyone paying online with a credit card will be charged an additional 2.75 percent  “I’m so sorry about the inconvenience,” added Bullock.

The veteran trustee points out that there is still time to make property tax payments and receive a discount.  “The deadline is now Nov. 6 for the two percent discount, and the one percent discount runs through Dec. 5,” said Bullock.  It’s worth noting that Bullock said, “If you mail your property tax payment, we go by the postmark.”

When the trustee’s office reopens on Mon., Nov. 2, the hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 am until 4:30 pm.  For the time being, due to the pandemic, the Campbell County Trustee’s Office is closed on Saturdays.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/27/2020-6AM)
