JELLICO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – The Campbell County Health Department is hosting a COVID-19 drive-through testing event for the community Saturday, November 7, 2020.

Nurses and/or National Guard medics will collect nasal swabs from those who want to be tested, and test results may be available within 72 hours after the samples arrive at the lab, depending on lab volume.

“We’ve seen an upward trend in COVID-19 cases in rural Tennessee that are cause for concern, and increased access to testing will help combat this continuing health threat,” said Campbell County Health Department Director Charles Turner. “This testing will be provided at no cost to participants, and those who come for testing can remain in their vehicles throughout the process.”

Sample collection for testing will be offered at the following location and times:

Jellico High School

141 School Lane

Jellico 37762

9 a.m. – Noon

This testing event will include notification of results and contact with the health department to provide education on isolation and quarantine recommendations that are important parts of slowing the spread of the virus. Information will be provided to participants at the testing site on what they can expect after being tested.

Tennessee’s Coronavirus Public Information Lines are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday – Friday and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. EDT daily at 833-556-2476 or 877-857-2945. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/05/2020-6AM)
