JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – On Tuesday, Director of Athletics for Campbell County High School Coach Ryan Browning learned that Powell High School has decided not to host its Thanksgiving Classic.
With that cancellation goes two varsity games for the Cougars and Lady Cougars. “We’re hustling to line up a game for that date,” said Browning.
UPDATE: Lady Cougar Coach Brad Honeycutt informed WLAF on Wednesday morning that the Knoxville West Rebels will fill the slot for Campbell County. To replace the Powell Thanksgiving Classic, West will play at Brown Gym on Tuesday, November 24, in a triple header; JV Boys at 4:30 pm, Varsity Girls at 6 pm followed by the Cougars-Rebs Boys Varsity game.
