A woman of faith and the heart of her family, Cynthia “Cyndi” Claiborne Poteet, age 50 of Jacksboro, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, in her home. She was born to Terry and Shirley Claiborne on December 5, 1969.She is preceded in death by her grandparents William Taylor and Pallie May Claiborne, Eslick and Tilda Chadwell, and niece Dakota Fowler.

Survived by:

Parents: Terry and Shirley Claiborne

Sons: Kelton Poteet and Kolby Poteet

Daughter: Laci Poteet

Sister: Diane Roark and husband Michael.

Nieces and Nephews: Krystal Smiddy, Andrew Fowler, Lauren Fowler, and a host of many loving friends.

Cyndi was an active member of New Life Ministries Church. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and enjoyed working in the church in any capacity. She was an insurance producer under Lynn Ray at State Farm and was a 2020 graduate of Liberty University where she majored in Psychology.

Cyndi was a well-known face in the community. Her love of life was evident in many ways. Her warm smile and infectious laughter always ensured to brighten up any room. 

Her goal in life was to make sure that everyone knew that they were loved and to help make the world a better place. Her caring soul drew many people to find comfort in her words. She had such a strong conviction to help others that she counseled at her church twice a week and was to begin her master’s degree next year so she could counsel others full-time. Her generosity showed no boundaries. 

She had an unwavering faith in God and love for her family. She was a strong woman of faith who strived to show others the unending grace of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will be deeply missed by those who were blessed to be a part of her life.

Family will receive friends 11 AM to 2 PM Saturday at New Life Ministries. Funeral Service to follow at 2 PM Saturday at New Life Ministries with Rev. Allen Shepherd and Rev. Lynn Ray officiating. Interment will be at Chadwell Family Cemetery on Easter Lane in LaFollette following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Campbell County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 122, Jacksboro, Tennessee 37757
