JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – A man who is no stranger to law enforcement remains housed this morning in the Campbell County Jail on a quarter-million dollar bail. Mitchell Wayne Swygert‘s latest run-in with the law includes charges of two counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect.

Law enforcement was last at Swygert’s home in mid-June.

The 30-year- old Swygert, 214 Ridenour Lane, the last house in the city limits of La Follette on that street, is a convicted felon, according to La Follette Police. Swygert has been the target of two recent drug investigations conducted by the La Follette Police Special Response Team and Drug Unit, the Eighth Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department.

Swygert was arrested by Campbell County Deputies at the Knox County Jail last week and brought back to Campbell County. Jail records reveal that the father of two is charged with six counts of possession of schedule I, two counts of possession of schedule II, two counts of Meth with intent to sell, two charges of tampering with evidence and two counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect.

Swygert is due in Campbell County Criminal Court on Nov. 30. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/13/2020-6AM)
