JELLICO, TN (WLAF) – On Nov. 4, Deputy Joseph Weaver noticed a vehicle with a missing taillight. When he stopped the vehicle at the Jellico McDonald’s, he found three occupants inside.

He noticed the back passenger moving around with his hands behind his back as if he was attempting to hide something, according to a report from the sheriff’s department. Weaver searched the back seat where the back passenger was seated. The search revealed a white oval pill believed to be Gabapentin, a schedule V narcotic lying in the backseat floorboard. The passenger allegedly told Weaver it was his but he did not have a prescription for it. Weaver attempted to get the passengers’ name, but he gave false information.

Upon further investigation thru the NCIS database, Weaver located a criminal history and photo ID of the man. Weaver then checked local warrants and found a violation of probation warrant on the man who identified as William James Rapier.

Rapier, 35, 627 Surkey Hollow Road, Jellico is charged with possession of schedule V controlled substance, criminal impersonation, and violation of probation out of General Sessions Court.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/12/2020-6AM)
